Appearance: visored figure in a dark green and black bodysuit, surrounded by a green glowing aura when using his powers, leaves behind a blazing emerald streak when he flies

Powers: merged with the 'Starheart', the source of power for the 20th Century Green Lantern, he can fire energy power blasts and fly. He can potentially create energy objects, grow, shrink, walk through walls, translate languages, and should be the most powerful member of the Legion. He has recently had success at time travel, teleportation, and traveling through a wormhole.

Drake has discovered recently that he can sometimes commune with the Starheart and learn things from it. He also realized that he can divert a small amount of his power and use it to charge the Power Ring, which can then be used by someone else - without the painful and humiliating side effects he encountered when he was inhabiting the ring.

Weaknesses: Drake is vulnerable to wood. His powers don't directly affect anything composed of wood, and wooden weapons can hurt him, weaken him, and eventually kill him. His containment suit gives him some protection from wooden weapons.

History: Drake is trained as a scientist, and everyone thought he had a brilliant career ahead of him. He was working as a research assistant when there was an explosion which vaporized the Starheart and his body. He almost died before he managed to meld his mind with the mystical green energy. As soon as it was realized that he was still alive, the government drafted him into the Legion. He is perpetually angry at being forced to live as an energy being trapped inside a containment suit. At one time, Drake was forced to take refuge inside the ancient ring of the original Green Lantern, and his energies can be used to power the ring. Drake doesn't like being trapped in the Power Ring, as he is unable to use his own will to control his own energy. The Power Ring is currently sealed inside his containment suit.

The 'accident' that fused Drake with the Starheart was deliberately planned by Amgov, though he didn't figure it out on hiw own- Canary told him. Drake is impetuous and often acts without thinking. He is strongly opposed to suppressing information or keeping science a secret.

Drake gained his powers at 16 and went directly into the Legion; he has received some 100 hours of remedial training at the Legion Academy over the past 2 years.

Drake's original containment suit, supplied by Amgov, was bugged, and everything he saw or did was recorded. When he found out, he melted the suit to slag.

Comments: During the battle against Savage and his minions in Limbo, Drake made use of a Cosmic Rod, which he had secreted inside his containment suit. However, the magical Starheart energy is incompatible with the 'scientific' Cosmic energy used by the Cosmic Rod. After some hours in close contact, they start to react against each other, and the longer they are in this close contact, the more violent the reaction would become. So Drake can't carry a Cosmic Rod for more than an hour or so.
