Appearance: Looks much like Rexford, his older brother, but he works out constantly and has the physique of a body builder.

Powers: Randall can 'dive' backwards into time. He can move backwards for up to an hour. Once he reaches the 'depth' he has selected, time passes normally for him and he returns to the present. While he is in the past, is remains a phantom, able to see and hear everything that goes on around him, but affect nothing. He can move freely as a phantom, and pass through physical objects, up to a top speed of just under the speed of sound. He can carry about 50 pounds of stuff back in time with him. However, as soon as that stuff loses contact with him, it immediately pops to the surface, ie, returns to the present. Hour Boy can't dive when he is already in the past, and after each dive, he needs to rest one minute for each minute he just spent in the past. He gets sick if he spends too much time in the past, his limit is about an hour every 24 hours.

Randal is a highly skilled ordinance designer and engineer, building all his own equipment, and is the weaponer of the Legion. He loves to work on anything that can be driven or piloted, and is an exceptional pilot himself.

He is also a highly skilled and vicious fighter.

History: Randall Tyler is the younger brother of Legionnaire Rexford Tyler. He is fiercely protective of his older brother. He has similar intellectual potential as Rex, but has never been forced to develop his mind. Instead, he has spent hours developing his physique, hoping that the physical problem that affected Rex would not touch him. He is highly skilled in demolition and weapons, and a very good observer, and a good fighter with the ability to spring a devastating surprise on an opponent, for example vanishing from in front of the opponent and instantly appearing behind that opponent. When he first became interested in science at the Legion Academy, he was seduced by an older cadet, Coquette (a.k.a. Clothes Fall Off Girl) and she led him so far astray he almost flunked out. People not involved in the relationship thought she did it in revenge on Rex, which was probably true, but she was acting on orders of General Urbane. Snce then, he has seemed to be on some kind of campaign against women, seducing and leaving at least one every week.

Randal is a member of the Legion Stealth Squad.

Comments: In many ways, Rand is the opposite of his brother. Rex is frail and can't move, Rand is powerful and athletic. Rex's power allows him to move into the future, while Rand's power allows him to move into the past. Rex is shy and reserved and has never had a girlfriend, Rand is brash and loud and has a new 'girlfriend' (really, conquest) several times a month. Rex favors theoretical research; Rand likes to fiddle with things. Rex abhors violence; Rand loves a good fight. Yet the two are very close.
