Bobbi was examining old books in the library, and she found a diary, which she read eagerly. Written in the mid 21st century, it recounted the heroic adventures of Atom Blake, who had received mental and physical super powers from a series of experimental treatments performed on him by his parents before he was 4 years old. He had also worn a ‘magic’ ring, which allowed him to perform ‘miracles’.
Inside another book, written by Heather and Stuart Sr. and self-published in 1932, Bobbi found a secret hiding place concealing this selfsame ring. After much research, Bobbi finally figured out the formulae inscribed on the outside of the ring, which helped her activate it. She realized she didn’t have easy control over it such as Atom Blake had been reported to have. Although the energy controlled by the ring is normally invisible, Bobbi mentally commands it to glow a pale blue so she can receive visual feedback and do a better job of controlling that energy.
Bobbi never planned to be a super hero. She was dragged into the biz when she saw Sabbac battling Gladiator near her new home.
The manifestations of sun energy that Bobbi can command are less powerful than those commanded by Atom Blake centuries earlier. This is because Bobbi never received the experimental treatments that Atom Blake had undergone in his childhood. However, her translation of the formulae on the ring suggests that the sun energy given off by the ring as she used it might gradually have a similar, if reduced, effect on her as those treatments did on young Stuart Blake Jr.
Bobbi can mentally command the sun energy released by the ring to create energy constructs, for example giant hands or hammers. She can then control the actions of these constructs. In addition, proper utilization of sun energy allows Bobbi to fly, and she can create force shields that are proof against matter and energy.
She must mentally rehearse a particular section of the formulae inscribed on the ring in order to activate it. The ring remains active as long as she is actively releasing or controlling sun energy. She does not yet know these things: * How long will the ring remain active if she uses it continuously? * Is there a limit to how often it can be activated? * How large can her energy constructs be? * How many energy constructs can she create at once? * Can she use the sun energy to create other effects (for example, shrinking her body, or reading minds)
In addition, she has so far discovered no weaknesses of the sun energy (for example, the Power Ring of Green Lantern of Earth-2 has no effect on wood).
