History

Jim Chisholm played on the US gold-medal volleyball team in the 1984 Olympics. When he graduated from college he started his own reasonably successful Architectural firm. In 1987, while hiking, he discovered a wrecked spacechip. The pilot of that ship gave him a pair of ancient artifacts, the Glove and Glove of the ancient Galactic Control. The Globe and Glove gave him control over powerful energies, similar to a Green Lantern ring. Jim had a busy first few weeks as a super-hero, and during that time he lost his major clients, and his girlfriend left him. With no remaining ties on Earth, Jim is considering leaving Earth to head for the center of the Galaxy and find out more about the vanished Galactic Patrol.

Powers

Jim Chisholm found some ancient alien artifacts, the Glove and Globe of the Galactic Patrol. The Globe contains a subspace connection to the black hole at the middle of our Milky Way Galaxy, and it can be used to supply energy to the Glove. The Glove has limited energy storage capability, and it allows the user to mentally control the release of that energy. This released energy usually glows whitely, like a pearl illiminated from inside, which gave rise to the ancient name, the Glow. The Glow allows Jim to fly, project a force field that protects him, project energy and create solid objects from the projected energy. The Glove needs to be recharged occasionally. Jim has engaged in power-to-power combat with weilders of various power rings, and the Glow seems to be roughly as powerful as Green Lantern (Alan Scott) or Sinestro's rings. Jim has only had the Glove and Globe for about a few weeks, and he is still discovering its powers and its limits. So far he has not discovered an inherent vulnerability such as GL's vulnerability to wood. He has been training with Green Lantern and Star Sapphire. Jim is a superb natural athlete (played for the US Olympic Volleyball Team which won the Gold Medal in 1988). He is also very highly trained in Akido. His skills are the equivalent of a master, but his appreciation for the non-violent philosophy of Akido is still somewhat ... underdeveloped.
