History

In the early 1940s, Ted (Starman) Knight was exposed to mysltical radiation which extended his life. It is theorized that this energy also unhinged his mind leading him to develop an alternate personality who manifested as the independent entity Vic Valor, Invincible. The Valor entity shared Ted's body and controlled it after dark. There is some evidence that Vic Valor may actually be a spirit of some kind rather than a creation of Ted's mind. This spirit claims to be from a planet called Xadam, and a member of the Invinvibles, an elite police organization on Xadam. It isn't clear if this story was made up by the Valor entity, or whether the Valor entity believes this story, and the story has not been disproved. While his mind was controlled by the Valor entity, Ted built a powered battle suit, which he then wore to disguise his identity and which gave him super powers. This battle suit was powered by the same infra rays that power Starman's Gravity Rod. VIc Valor apparently died in battle. A villain called Xenon led him into a trap set by Dr. Doog. When the Valor entity died, Ted regained control of his body. However, he has not had much luck in accessing Vic Valor's memories, giving some credence to the idea that the Valor entity was actually independent of Ted's mind.

Powers

Vic Valor gets his powers from his battle suit. The suit allows him to fly, lift heavy weights, see in the dark, move at super speed (although not nearly as fast as the Flash), and provides limited invulnerability. He has also exhibited heat vision. It is possible that he has also exhibited x-ray vision, but there is some reason to believe that this was a trick. Valor claimed he was blinded by normal daylight, but he was not blinded by a fire in a burning building, and in his last adventrue, he appeared during the daytime. The Valor battle suit is powered by infra-rays, the same energy source used by Starman's Gravity Rod, and did not appear to be effective during daylight in Valor's early appearances. However, he appears to have added significant storage energy capacity to the suit just before his last battle, and he was able to make a daylight appearance.
